About Dr. Jerry Mancuso

Dr. Mancuso is a specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He performs complex facial reconstructive procedures, cleft lip and palate surgery, oculoplastic surgery, bone grafts to the facial bones, wisdom tooth removal, and has extensive experience with the surgical placement of dental implants, having placed over 17,000 in the last 25 years. He is trained in Anesthesiology and holds an active permit by the state of California to provide General Anesthesia in the outpatient setting.

Education

Dr. Mancuso attended University of Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA and received Doctorate in Dentistry in 1992. He completed Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Yale University School of Medicine in 2000.

Practice

Since 2000, Dr. Mancuso has been practicing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as an Attending Surgeon of Mancuso Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery - a full scope Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice specializing in all surgery of the oral cavity, jaws, head and neck, and associated facial structures.
  
Dr. Mancuso served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco (1993-2000) and practiced dentistry in the US Navy Dental Corps as a Lieutenant aboard USS Holland AS-32 and in Naval Dental Centers in Guam and Yokosuka, Japan. As General Dental Officer, Dr. Mancuso provided dental and surgical care to 18,000 active duty personnel and coordinated care to nuclear powered submarines of the Pacific Fleet. He served on the Controlled Medications Inventory Board of the West Pacific and as Infection Control Officer; he was also a member of Emergency Forensic and Casualty Response team.

Dr. Mancuso served as Lieutenant Commander, United States Navy Reserve Dental Corps. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Reserve Officer (1998-2006).

Research & Innovation

Since 2010, Dr. Mancuso has been researching, applying and lecturing on the topic of use of placental tissue and regenerative biomaterials for wound covering in dental surgery.
